Building Futures. One Goal at a Time.
Futures Unlimited Community Integration Services (FUCIS) partners with adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities to pursue job readiness, volunteer, paid internship, vocational training, post-secondary education, and meaningful community participation, both in person and through remote learning.
FAST FORWARD THINKING
Our approach
Every participant who walks through our doors brings their own goals, their own story, and their own definition of success. Our job is to listen and then build the supports that get them there. Whether that path leads to a college classroom, a paid internship, a first job, or starting their own business, our Career Support Staff stands beside them every step of the way.
Our Vision
To build a community where every adult with an intellectual or developmental disability is recognized for their abilities, welcomed as a valued neighbor and contributor, and supported in building the life they choose.
Our Mission
To deliver person-centered day program services, that equip adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to pursue their education, career, and community goals, guided by the principles of self-determination and person-centered planning.
Our Commitment
We commit to every participant and family who chooses FUCIS: that their goals will guide our work, that their voice will be heard in every decision, and that they will be treated with the dignity, respect, and care they deserve — every day, in every interaction.
THE COMMUNITY IS OUR CLASSROOM
Real learning happens out in the world. Through community-based instruction, volunteerism, situational vocational experiences, and travel training on public transportation, our participants build the practical skills and confidence to move through their communities with independence and purpose.

Services Overview
Building Skills, Confidence, and Community for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

Job Readiness Training
We prepare participants for the workplace through targeted instruction in workplace behavior, professional communication, time management, resume building, and interview practice. Participants build the confidence and soft skills employers expect, before stepping into a job site.

Community Resources
We connect participants to the resources that make independent community life possible; public transportation services, community college and DSPS access, financial aid navigation, public libraries, health and wellness programs, and our broader network of community partners.

Vocational Training
Through hands-on training at community-based sites, participants explore career interests and develop the specific skills. Training is matched to each participant's goals — whether that's retail, food service, clerical, hospitality, or another field they want to pursue.

Health and Safety Practices
The well-being of our participants is our top priority. We adhere to established health and safety standards in every location and activity, conduct regular site safety reviews, and maintain individualized emergency plans for each participant.
