Our Commitment to the Community
FUCIS was built on the belief that every person, regardless of income, background, or circumstance, deserves a real shot at economic independence.
Our Employment Services program specifically targets adults from low-income households and minority communities across Los Angeles County who face the greatest barriers to employment. We serve CalFresh recipients, CalWORKs participants, individuals with disabilities, and others who have been underserved by traditional workforce programs.
Since 2021, FUCIS has provided job readiness training, employment coaching, and placement services through partnerships with local Regional Centers, and the broader Los Angeles County community. We are committed to growing that work, and to ensuring that the people who need employment services most are never the last to receive them.
What We Offer
Every person we work with receives individualized support — because no two paths to employment are the same.
Job Readiness Training
We prepare participants for the real world of work — covering resume writing, interview skills, professional communication, workplace expectations, and digital literacy. Our training is practical, hands-on, and tailored to each person's goals.
Job Placement & Referrals
Through our employer partnerships across Los Angeles County, we connect participants directly to job openings that match their skills and goals — and we support them through the hiring process every step of the way.
Individual Employment Coaching
Every participant is matched with a dedicated employment coach who works with them one-on-one to build a personalized employment plan, identify job targets, and navigate the job search process from start to finish.
Travel Training & Transportation Support
Getting to work is one of the most common barriers our participants face. We provide hands-on travel training using public transit, Metro rail, and Access Paratransit so participants can get to work independently and confidently.
Job Search Workshops
Our group workshops teach participants how to search effectively, use online job boards, network, and follow up — giving them the tools and confidence to find opportunities on their own terms.
Barrier Removal & Supportive Services
From help navigating public benefits to connecting participants with community resources, our case managers work to remove the real-world obstacles that stand between a person and stable employment.

We’ll sit down with you, in person, by phone, or by Zoom, to learn about your goals, your background, and the kind of work you’re looking for. This is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation.
Your Employment Plan
Together, we’ll build a personalized employment plan that outlines your goals, the services you’ll receive, and the steps we’ll take together to get you to work.
Training & Coaching
You’ll begin your job readiness training, employment coaching, and any other services included in your plan. Our team is with you throughout the process.
Job Placement & Follow-Up
When you’re ready, we’ll connect you with job opportunities and support you through the hiring process. Our relationship doesn’t end when you get the job, we follow up to make sure you’re set up for lasting success.
